You can see the online travel agencies' varied approaches to AI through their job listings. Expedia’s is the most centralized. Booking Holdings has two AI teams in Tel Aviv, one building proprietary foundational models and the other fusing them into products.

Airbnb, meanwhile, has small teams of extremely senior engineers, and one focus is its trove of 500 million reviews.

The OTAs are clearly tech companies and the job listings seem to show that much of the rest of the travel industry lags.
