Expedia doesn’t talk much anymore about its first AI chatbot, Roamie, because Roamie has been sidelined. Roamie was supposed to be an end-to-end solution. But CEO Ariane Gorin said the company learned that AI “point agents,” which might help travelers at each stage of trip-planning and booking, turn out to be more efficient. A lot of companies are getting that wrong, she said. Well, that’s what test and learn is all about.
